Yesterday was an interesting day. As President of the Forest Preserve of Kane county I chaired the Executive committee first thing in the morning (8:30). Then joined the 28 or so senior who joined our naturalist, Josh, who led us on the monthly “Senior Stroll” at Johnson’s Mound Forest Preserve Near Elburn. This one was a bit chilly. Hopefully the last cold one.

Later in the day I joined Carl Strathmann, chair of the Elgin Dems, along with Illinois State Senator Cristina Castro at her table at the Chicago Plumbers Union annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner in preparation for the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day parade. The plumbers are the ones that dye the Chicago River green on at Patrick’s Day. A good time was had by all.
